COSTCO

WHOLESALE

Just noting this for later because the path of the afternoon got oddly long and I ended up looking at the same set of panes from three angles while wondering whether the lower corners should breathe a little or stay sealed, and then there was that odd drip point near the rail, which made me think perhaps the slots still matter even if the fixed center portion seems too calm to need them, and somehow this turned into a whole trail of thoughts about wood trim, weather changes, one squeaky ladder step, and whether any of it looked different an hour earlier.

There was also a note to myself about not overthinking the top sash, though naturally that became the part I looked at the longest, because nothing stays simple once you start comparing corners, tiny gaps, and where the morning damp tends to collect when the room cools off faster than expected.

Subject: Re: planting herbs by the back steps

I moved the basil tray closer to the rail this morning because the light looked steadier there. It may still be a little cool before noon, but the leaves already seem less droopy than yesterday. If you stop by later, check whether the thyme pot is still tilting; I tucked a stone under it, though I'm not fully convinced that solved the angle.

The rosemary held up well overnight, which surprised me after the wind picked up. I think the shallow box near the steps dries out faster than the other ones, so I gave it a lighter second pour rather than soaking everything again. Also, if you happen to pass the market, maybe grab another packet of parsley seeds since the first row came in patchy.

No rush on answering. I made a tiny marker for each pot with blue tape, and it looks silly but does the job. We can rearrange the whole set tomorrow if the sun breaks the same way again.
