I meant to reply sooner, but the afternoon got away from me and then I realized I never hit send.

I think your idea makes sense, especially the part about keeping it simple the first time instead of trying to solve every little detail at once. When I overthink things, I end up making more work than needed, so I’ve been trying to choose the version that’s easiest to maintain and adjust later.

I looked over everything you sent and I think the easiest path is still the best one.

The longer version has some good parts, but a few sections feel more complicated than they need to be, and I suspect that may be what caused the delay in the first place. If I were handling it from scratch, I’d probably keep the opening clear, remove the extra explanations, and see whether the structure stands up on its own.
