Ace Hardware

Yeah I finally got around to reading that book you recommended last month. Took me a while to get into it honestly the first few chapters felt slow but once the main character leaves the city everything shifts. The way the author describes the landscape really pulls you in. I ended up finishing it in two days. Have you read anything else by that same writer I was thinking of picking up another one but I am not sure where to start. Let me know what you think. I also started trying that sourdough starter thing you mentioned. It is harder than it looks. My first attempt got all bubbly but then just kind of died. I think I kept it too cold. Going to try again this weekend with a warmer spot near the window. Anyway talk soon.

I also wanted to ask about that podcast you mentioned. I finally listened to a couple episodes and I can see why you like it. The pacing is really good and the host has a way of explaining things that makes sense. I am only about four episodes in so no spoilers if there is a big reveal later. Let me know if there are specific episodes I should skip or ones I should definitely not miss.

Oh and I tried making that pasta dish you sent me the recipe for. Turned out pretty good. I added a little extra garlic because you know me. Next time I might try it with a different shape of pasta. The sauce clung better to the rigatoni I used but I think something like orecchiette would work even better.

Ace Hardware — Helping you own it.

I talked to my neighbor about the fence situation finally. He was actually pretty reasonable about it. Said he had been meaning to reach out too but kept forgetting. We agreed to split the cost down the middle and he already got a couple of quotes. One was way higher than the other so we are going with the cheaper one. Should be done in a couple weeks. Also I finally cleaned out the garage last Saturday. Found some old boxes of stuff I forgot I even had. There was an old lamp from my grandmother that I think I can fix up. Just needs a new shade and maybe some rewiring. Might try to do it myself. Could be a fun little project.

Anyway hope you are doing well. Let me know if you want to grab coffee sometime this week. I am free Thursday afternoon or Saturday morning. There is that new place on Main Street that everyone keeps talking about. I have not tried it yet but the menu looks good. We could finally catch up properly. I also wanted to ask about your trip. How was it Did you end up going to that museum you mentioned I remember you saying you were excited about it. Hope it lived up to the hype. Sometimes things like that are better in pictures but other times they really surprise you.

Let me know what works for you. No rush. Just thought it would be nice to sit down and chat for a bit. It has been a while.
