I was looking into that hiking trail near the lake you mentioned last week. At first I wasn't sure about the elevation gain but it seems manageable. I checked some recent reviews and they say the views are stunning especially around the late afternoon when the sun hits the water. I'm thinking we should bring plenty of snacks and start early to avoid the midday heat. Let me know what you think about the route I found online. It loops around the northern ridge and comes back down through a shaded forest area. I also read that there's a small stream about halfway where we can refill bottles if we bring a filter. I also wanted to ask if you have any recommendations for lightweight hiking shoes. My current pair is pretty worn out and I need something with good ankle support for rocky sections. Let me know what has worked for you.

So I tried that pasta recipe you gave me last week and it turned out really good. I added a bit more garlic than it called for and used cherry tomatoes instead of the canned ones. The sauce was super flavorful and my family loved it. I did have trouble with the timing of the pasta though – it ended up a little overcooked because I forgot to set a timer. Next time I'll be more careful. Also I substituted the basil with parsley since that's what I had on hand and it still worked nicely. I think this recipe is a keeper. Let me know if you have any other quick dinner ideas because I'm running out of ideas for weeknight meals. Thanks again for sharing it!

I'm also looking for a good side dish to go with it next time – maybe a roasted vegetable medley? Any suggestions?
