Sure I can tell you more about the bookshelf project. I picked up eight foot pine boards from the lumber yard and cut them down to size at home. Used a pocket hole jig for all the joints so everything stayed square during assembly. Sanded each piece with 120 grit then 220 before applying any finish. Went with a tung oil and mineral spirits mix because it gives a warm natural look without being too glossy. The whole build took about five hours including the time between coats of oil. Mounted it on the wall using heavy duty toggle anchors since the shelf holds a decent amount of weight. Right now it's holding a mix of novels and a few small potted plants. The shelves are twelve inches deep which works well for both books and decorative items. I spaced the shelves about fourteen inches apart so taller books can stand upright. If you decide to build something similar I recommend letting the boards sit in your house for a few days before cutting to prevent any warping later on. The whole thing cost around forty dollars in materials and looks like it cost much more. Let me know if you want the exact measurements.

I finally tried the sourdough recipe you shared a few weeks ago and it turned out better than I expected. The starter took about twelve days to become bubbly and active enough to bake with. I fed it once a day using equal parts all purpose flour and filtered water. The first loaf came out a little dense because I think I overproofed it slightly. The second loaf had a much better rise with a deep golden crust and a chewy interior. I baked it in a preheated dutch oven at four hundred fifty degrees for thirty minutes with the lid on then fifteen minutes uncovered. The crumb had small irregular holes which is exactly the texture I was hoping for. I added a sprinkle of sesame seeds on top before baking which gave it a nice nutty flavor. The flavor is tangy but mild and it tastes amazing toasted with butter. I'm going to try a version with twenty percent whole wheat flour next time to see how it changes the texture and taste. If you want to stop by this weekend I can show you the process and you can take a loaf home with you.
