Harbor Freight

I think the best approach for your garage setup is to start with a pegboard on the back wall.

That way you can hang your most frequently used tools and keep them visible. For the workbench, I would go with a sturdy used door mounted on sawhorses if you want something temporary or a proper butcher block if you want it to last.

You asked about lighting and I would recommend those LED shop lights that link together. They make a huge difference compared to a single bulb.

For storage, clear plastic bins with labels work better than cardboard boxes because you can see what is inside without opening everything. I would also suggest adding a magnetic strip for screwdrivers and pliers near the work area.

One thing people often overlook is having a dedicated spot for trash and recyclables right near the bench. It keeps the clutter down while you are working.

Let me know if you want me to help pick out the pegboard hooks because there are a lot of options and it can get confusing.

We should definitely plan for Saturday afternoon since the forecast looks good.

I was thinking we could start around three so there is plenty of time for setup and conversation before we fire up the grill. You asked about sides and I think a couple of simple salads and maybe some baked beans would round things out nicely without too much work.

For the main course I was planning on burgers and brats but let me know if anyone has dietary restrictions. I will grab extra charcoal and some wood chips for smoke flavor.

Could you bring your large cooler for drinks? Mine is a bit small for a group this size. We will have about twelve people confirmed so far and I expect maybe two or three more to RSVP late.

I will set up the extra folding chairs and tables in the shade. Let me know if you think we need a canopy just in case of afternoon showers.

I can also bring a couple of lawn games if people want to play something while they wait for the food.
