Harbor Freight

The bookshelf project turned out better than I expected. I used a darker stain than originally planned because the oak had such nice grain and I wanted it to really stand out. The adjustable shelves were a bit tricky to get level but once I used a spacer jig it went quickly. Total time was about three weekends working a few hours each day. I would probably do a few things differently next time like pre-drilling all the shelf pin holes before assembly. The finish came out really smooth after three coats of polyurethane with light sanding between each coat. I still need to anchor it to the wall since it is tall and could tip over if bumped. Overall I am happy with how it turned out and it matches the other furniture in the room.

The lasagna recipe you asked about is actually pretty straightforward. I start by browning the ground beef with onions and garlic then add crushed tomatoes tomato paste and Italian seasoning. Let that simmer for about thirty minutes while I prepare the ricotta mixture which is just ricotta cheese an egg some parsley and a bit of salt and pepper. I use no boil noodles to save time and layer everything starting with sauce then noodles then ricotta then mozzarella. Repeat that three times and top with parmesan. Bake at three seventy five covered for forty five minutes then uncovered for another fifteen. Let it rest for ten minutes before cutting or it will fall apart. The key is letting it rest long enough and not skimping on the cheese between layers.
