I think the Eagle Ridge trail would be a good choice for Saturday morning. The weather forecast looks favorable with temperatures in the mid seventies and low humidity. The loop is about six miles with some gradual elevation gain but nothing too difficult for a group with moderate fitness levels. We should plan to meet at the trailhead parking lot by 7:30am since it fills up quickly on weekends. I can bring extra water and snacks for everyone. The views from the upper ridge are quite impressive this time of year with the changing foliage. If we finish by noon we could grab lunch at that new cafe near the park entrance. Let me know if that timing works for your group and I will adjust accordingly. I also want to check if anyone has dietary restrictions before I plan the snacks. The trail has a few shaded sections but most of it is exposed so sunscreen would be a good idea.

I will send a map link to everyone by Thursday evening so we are all set. Let me know if you need help coordinating carpools.

I started the raised bed project last weekend and it went better than expected. The cedar planks from the lumber yard were reasonably priced and the hardware kit made assembly straightforward. I built two beds that are four feet by eight feet each with a path between them. The soil mix I used was equal parts topsoil, compost, and peat moss which should drain well. I planted tomatoes, peppers, and basil in the first bed and left the second bed for fall crops. The drip irrigation system was easy to set up with a timer at the spigot. I found that lining the bottom with landscape fabric helps prevent weeds from growing through the base.

I used galvanized screws instead of nails for better durability over time. The total cost for both beds including soil was around one hundred fifty dollars. Let me know if you want me to share the materials list and cut measurements. I can also send photos of the finished setup if that would help with planning your own project.
