I think the trail you mentioned is a good option for a day hike. We did that loop last fall and the views were really nice throughout the whole route. The elevation gain is steady but nothing too intense for someone with moderate experience. If you want to extend it a bit there is a side trail that leads to a small waterfall about half a mile in. Just keep in mind that section can get quite muddy after rain. We brought along some snacks and water and took a break at the midpoint where there are some large rocks to sit on. The whole thing took us around three hours with that stop included. I would recommend starting early because the parking lot fills up fast on weekends. There is also a ranger station at the trailhead if you need a map or have questions about current conditions. Let me know if you want to borrow my gear for the trip. I have an extra pack and poles you can use. Also the weather forecast looks good for next weekend so that should work well for us.

I checked the campsite availability and there are still spots open for that weekend. We should probably book soon to make sure we get a good site. The area near the creek is usually the best and it is still available. Let me know what you think and we can finalize the plans.

I tried that pasta dish you sent me last week and it turned out really well. The sauce came together quickly and the ingredients were all things I usually have on hand in the kitchen. I added a bit more garlic than it called for and used fresh basil instead of dried because I had some from the garden. Next time I might try it with some grilled chicken or roasted vegetables mixed in for extra flavor and texture. The recipe was easy to follow and the cooking time was accurate. I served it with a simple side salad and some crusty bread. Everyone at the table enjoyed it and asked for seconds. If you have other recipes like that one please send them my way. I have been trying to cook more at home and finding meals that are straightforward but still feel special has been really helpful. Let me know how it goes if you try making it yourself.

Also I wanted to ask about the farmer's market you mentioned. I went last Saturday and found some really nice produce. The tomatoes were especially good this time of year. I picked up some fresh herbs and a loaf of sourdough from one of the vendors. The market was not too crowded when I arrived around nine in the morning. I will probably go again next week if you want to join.
