Yeah I totally get what you mean about the book club selection this month. I actually read it over the weekend and I think the pacing was a bit off in the middle but the ending really pulled it together for me. I was planning to bring up the chapter about the garden party because that part felt like it dragged but then the dialogue at the train station was just fantastic and totally redeemed it. Let me know if you want me to send you the notes I jotted down because I highlighted a few sections that reminded me of that novel we both loved last year. I can share them before the next meeting if that helps you catch up. Also I found a great recipe for those lemon bars you were asking about and I will bring them to the next gathering. Just a heads up I might be a few minutes late because of the traffic on the highway but I will definitely be there.

Oh and about the hiking trip next weekend I checked the weather forecast and it looks like it will be partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers so I will pack the extra rain jackets just in case. I already mapped out the trail we talked about and the elevation gain is moderate but the views from the ridge are supposed to be incredible. I will bring some snacks and plenty of water for everyone. Let me know if you want to carpool together because parking at the trailhead can be tricky on weekends. Also I finished that documentary series you recommended and wow the cinematography was stunning especially the episodes filmed in the national parks. We should definitely plan a visit there sometime.

Hey did you ever check out that new coffee shop on Elm Street? I finally stopped by yesterday and the atmosphere was really cozy with all those exposed brick walls and soft lighting. I ordered a lavender latte and it was surprisingly good not too sweet and the foam was perfect. The barista mentioned they roast their own beans in-house so I grabbed a bag of the house blend to try at home. It has a nice smooth finish with hints of chocolate. I think you would really like the place especially since you are always looking for quiet spots to read on weekends. They have a big window seat that looks out onto the street and the natural light is just lovely in the afternoon.

Also I finally organized my bookshelf over the weekend and found that novel you lent me last summer. I will return it at the next meetup I promise. I also came across an old photo album from our trip to the coast and it made me smile remembering all the little adventures we had. We should plan another trip like that soon maybe somewhere with hiking trails and good seafood. Let me know what you think about the coffee shop idea and if you want to go together sometime next week.
