Thanks for asking about the weekend workshop idea. I think we should go with the Saturday afternoon slot since most people are free then. The woodworking session would work well in the main hall because we have enough tables and power outlets there. I already checked with facilities and they can set up the extra lighting we need for the detailed carving demonstration. For materials we should ask everyone to bring their own basic toolkit but we can supply the wood blanks and pattern sheets. I am thinking we could have a short break around 3pm with coffee and snacks provided. Let me know if you want me to reach out to the guest instructor to confirm times. We should also prepare a handout with the basic steps so beginners can follow along more easily. The cost per person would be minimal if we split the materials among the group. I can handle the sign-up sheet if you want to manage the setup. Just let me know your thoughts on the timing.

I also checked the room availability and the main hall is open that Saturday. The projector and screen are already set up so we can use those for the demonstration portion. I think we should keep the group to about twelve people so everyone gets enough hands-on time. Let me know if that sounds reasonable or if you want to adjust the numbers.

I looked into the community garden layout you mentioned and I think the raised bed plan would work really well for the corner plot. We have enough space for about eight beds if we arrange them in two rows with a path down the middle. The soil test came back showing good drainage so we will not need to amend too much before planting. I was thinking we could start with tomatoes and peppers on the sunny side and put herbs along the edge where they will not shade the other plants. The water barrel system you suggested would be perfect for irrigation and I found a decent setup at the hardware store that is not too expensive. We could put together a schedule for watering and weeding so no one person has to do all the work. If you want I can draft a simple guide for volunteers so everyone knows what to do. Let me know what you think about starting the first weekend after the weather warms up.

I also checked on the compost delivery and they said it will arrive next Thursday. That gives us the weekend to spread it in the beds before planting. Let me know if you want to adjust the bed layout or if you have other crops in mind for the shaded side.
