I finally got around to trying that sourdough starter recipe my sister sent me last month. It took three days just to get the bubbles right and honestly I nearly gave up on day two when nothing was happening. But by day four it finally doubled in size and smelled really good so I went ahead and baked a loaf. It came out a little dense but the crust was perfect and my neighbor said it tasted like real bakery bread. I think I will try again this weekend with a slightly wetter dough and see if that helps the texture. Also I picked up a used bird feeder at the thrift store for five dollars and the cardinals have already found it which makes my whole morning routine better.

The other day my cousin asked me if I had any tips for organizing a small kitchen pantry and I ended up sending her a whole list of ideas because I have been obsessed with decluttering lately. I told her to start by taking everything out and grouping like items together. Then measure the shelf height before buying any bins because that is where people get stuck. I also mentioned using adhesive shelf risers to double the vertical space for cans and jars. She sent me a photo after she finished and it looked so good I almost wanted to redo mine. I think she used about fifteen clear bins in total and labeled every single one with a chalk marker. It looked super satisfying. I recommended she pick up a lazy Susan for the corner cabinet too because that area always becomes a black hole for random pans.
