Hey, I remember you mentioned you were thinking about getting a puppy. We recently went through the house training phase with our new golden retriever, and it was quite an experience. The key is consistency and taking them out every couple of hours, especially after meals and naps. We also found that using a crate helped a lot with the process. It gives them a safe space and naturally discourages them from making a mess inside. There were a few accidents on the carpet, but nothing that some enzyme cleaner couldn't fix. Let me know if you want any specific tips or recommendations for supplies, I've become a bit of an expert over the past few months. The first week was exhausting but seeing their progress makes it all worthwhile.

I think having a routine really helped our pup understand what was expected. We set timers for potty breaks and stuck to a feeding schedule. Positive reinforcement with lots of treats and praise worked wonders. It is amazing how smart they are and how quickly they pick up on things when you are patient with them. Let me know if you decide to go for it, I would be happy to help.

I finally tried making sourdough bread from scratch last weekend. It is much more time-consuming than I expected, especially waiting for the starter to become active and bubbly. The whole process from mixing the starter to pulling the finished loaf out of the oven took about four days. The first few attempts were a bit flat and dense, but the third one actually had a nice airy crumb and a crispy crust. The smell of freshly baked bread filled the whole apartment. It is quite rewarding to eat something you made with just flour, water, and salt. I packed up half of the last loaf for the neighbors and they loved it.

I think the trick is maintaining the right temperature for the dough to rise properly. I ended up using the oven with just the light on to create a warm draft-free environment. Scoring the bread before baking also made a big difference in how it expanded. I am already planning to try a whole wheat version next weekend.
