Yeah I think you should go with the dark stain for the deck instead of the natural one. It will hold up better against the sun and won't show the wear as quickly. I used the same brand you are looking at last summer and it still looks great. Just make sure you clean the surface really well before applying. I spent a whole afternoon power washing and scrubbing and it made a big difference. You might want to wait until later in the season when it is less humid so the drying time is more predictable. Also do not forget to seal the ends of the boards that are cut to size. That is where moisture gets in first. You can borrow my sprayer for the job if you need it. The local hardware store still has the stain on sale this week so that helps. Let me know what time works for you to get started and I will come over to help with the prep work. I think we can finish it in one weekend if we stay focused.

Also I would suggest picking up extra brushes and rollers so we are not stopping to clean them mid-project. The weather looks good for next weekend so that should work out well. Just confirm with me by Wednesday so I can plan accordingly.

I think the best time for the cookout would be early afternoon so we have plenty of daylight. The forecast looks clear for Saturday so that should work well. I will bring the grill and some extra chairs. For the menu I was thinking burgers and brats with a few sides. Let me know if anyone has dietary restrictions I should plan for. I can also pick up some corn on the cob and make my potato salad. The kids can play in the backyard while we catch up. I will send out a message to everyone later this week to confirm the time. Does noon work for you or would you prefer later in the day. Just let me know what works best for your schedule. I can also grab some drinks and ice if you want me to. Let me know if you need me to bring a table or any other supplies. We could also set up a few games for the kids to keep them entertained.

Also I wanted to ask if you have a preference on the type of buns or if you want me to pick up anything specific from the store. I am happy to handle whatever you need. Just send me a list and I will take care of it. Looking forward to it.
