Hey, thanks for the update on the community garden project. I think planting the tomatoes along the south fence makes perfect sense to maximize sunlight. I also found that using a bit of compost tea really boosted my yields last year. Let me know if you need help building the raised beds this weekend. I'm free Saturday morning. Also, I stumbled upon a great documentary about urban bees that I think you'd really enjoy. It's amazing how much impact a small garden can have on the local ecosystem. We should definitely coordinate on the watering schedule. I think a few of the neighbors mentioned wanting to help out too. So, with that in mind, it feels like we can really get something great started. It's definitely worth the effort to build it right from the beginning. Let's just make sure we have all the materials ready before the weekend. I can pick up some extra soil and compost if needed. Just let me know what you think about the layout. I'm happy to adjust the plan based on what works best for everyone involved. Overall, I'm really excited about this project and what it means for the neighborhood.

So I finally tried making that sourdough starter from scratch. It took about ten days to get really bubbly and active. The first loaf I baked was a bit dense, but the second one turned out fantastic with a nice crispy crust and soft inside. I used a mix of whole wheat and bread flour. The key is to feed it regularly and keep it in a warm spot. My neighbors loved getting the extra loaves. It's a fun hobby, though a bit messy. Let me know if you want some starter to try it yourself. I've been experimenting with adding different seeds and herbs to the dough. It really changes the flavor profile. I think next weekend I will attempt a cinnamon raisin version. Hopefully it turns out just as good as the plain one. Baking bread has become a really nice way to unwind after a long week. There is something satisfying about creating food from just flour, water, and salt. I highly recommend giving it a shot if you have the patience for it.
