Yeah I finally got around to trying that new recipe you sent me last week SlLnPVdfDFUq and it turned out pretty well. I had to substitute a few things because I didn't have all the ingredients. The sauce was a bit thinner than I expected but the flavor was really good. I think next time I'll let it simmer a bit longer to thicken up. The kids liked it too which is always a win in my book. Let me know if you've tried any other variations because I'd love to experiment with it more. Oh and thanks for the tip about adding a pinch of that spice at the end instead of during cooking it really made a difference in the aroma. I also added some fresh herbs from the garden and that seemed to brighten everything up. We had leftovers the next day and it was even better after sitting overnight.

I was just thinking about our conversation the other day about starting a small garden. I finally cleared a spot in the backyard and got some soil delivered. Nothing too ambitious just some tomatoes and peppers to start. My neighbor said the soil here is pretty good for growing things so I'm optimistic. I spent last weekend setting up a couple of raised beds and I'm actually pretty excited about it. I've been watching some videos online about companion planting and apparently basil grows really well next to tomatoes so I might try that too. It's been nice having a project that gets me outside and away from screens for a while. If you have any tips for a beginner I would love to hear them. I'll send you some photos once things start growing. I also picked up a little watering system that attaches to the hose so I don't have to remember to water every day. That should help keep things alive while I'm at work.
