I just finished that woodworking project I was telling you about. I built a small bookshelf out of reclaimed pine and used a dark walnut stain. It took me two weekends because I had to sand everything by hand. The wife loves it and already has it filled with cookbooks. Next up is a matching coffee table. The hardware store had some nice steel brackets on clearance that worked perfectly. I think the key is to measure twice and cut once, as the saying goes. Oh, and I finally got around to organizing the garage shelves too. That was overdue. Now I can actually find my tools without digging for ten minutes. Anyway, just wanted to share that progress. Hope you are having a good week as well.

You know, I had the weirdest thing happen yesterday. I was walking through the park and saw a dog that looked exactly like my childhood golden retriever. Same floppy ears and a spot on the tail. I almost called out his name but then remembered he passed away years ago. It made me think about how certain sights can trigger memories so vividly. On a completely different note, I tried that new Thai place on Elm Street and the green curry was incredible. UX8aBICTORRzt8n Really authentic flavor. They even had sticky rice with mango for dessert. I think I found my new go-to spot for takeout. Anyway, just felt like sharing those two random stories from my day.
