Yeah we should definitely go hiking this weekend but I think we need to leave early because the trailhead fills up fast. I checked the weather and it looks clear all day Saturday so that works. We can take my car since it has more room for gear. I will pack some sandwiches and snacks just let me know if anyone has dietary restrictions. The trail I was thinking about is about six miles round trip with some moderate elevation gain so it should be doable for everyone. We should bring at least two liters of water each and maybe a filter if we want to refill along the way. I have a map of the area and there is a nice spot near the top for lunch. After we come down we could grab dinner at that new place downtown if people are up for it.

I also wanted to mention that the parking lot at the trailhead gets crowded by eight in the morning so if we aim to arrive by seven thirty we should have no problem finding a spot. There is a coffee shop on the way where we can grab something to go. Let me know what you think about the plan and if everyone is good with the Saturday timing.

I tried that new pasta recipe you sent me last week and it turned out really well. The key was letting the sauce simmer for at least thirty minutes to really develop the flavors. I added a bit more garlic than it called for because you know how I feel about garlic. The fresh basil from the farmers market made a big difference too. Next time I might try adding some mushrooms or zucchini for extra texture. The recipe was easy to follow but I did have to adjust the cooking time a bit since my stove runs hot. I served it with a simple side salad and some crusty bread. Everyone at the table asked for seconds so I would say it was a success.

Let me know if you have any other recipes you have been wanting to try because I am always looking for new things to cook. I was thinking of attempting a homemade pizza dough this weekend if you have any tips on that. Also if you have a good suggestion for a dessert that does not require too many special ingredients I would love to hear it.
