Yeah I totally get what you mean. The last time I tried planting tomatoes I started them way too early and they got all leggy before I could move them outside. A friend told me to use a small fan on them for a few hours each day to strengthen the stems and it actually made a huge difference. I also switched to a different potting mix that drains better and the roots seemed much happier. Next season I want to try growing bell peppers and maybe some basil alongside the tomatoes because I heard they grow well together. My biggest challenge is keeping the squirrels away from everything. I tried a few different deterrents but nothing seems to work for long. Someone suggested planting mint nearby because the smell bothers them but I haven't tried it yet. If you have any tips for keeping critters out I would love to hear them because it is getting ridiculous.

Anyway I hope your garden is doing well this year. I had to replant a few things after that late frost we got but everything seems to be bouncing back now. Let me know if you end up trying the fan trick because I am curious if it works for other people too.

I was talking to my cousin over the weekend about the old bike I found in my parents garage. It is a vintage Schwinn from the early 80s and honestly it is in better shape than I expected. The frame has some surface rust but nothing structural and the wheels still spin freely. I spent a few hours cleaning off the old grease and checking the brakes and I think with a new chain and some fresh tires it could be a really solid ride. My cousin kept telling me to just buy a new bike but I like the idea of fixing this one up because it has that classic look you do not see anymore.

He also recommended a podcast about restoring old things and I have been listening to it while I work on the bike. It is surprisingly calming just zoning out and slowly bringing something back to life. I might take it to a local shop for a tune up once I get the parts sorted because I do not trust myself with the gears yet. Should be a fun little project for the next few weekends.
