So you asked about the trail conditions for next weekend. I checked with the ranger station this morning and they said the loop is mostly dry now but there are a few muddy patches near the creek crossing. We should probably bring trekking poles just in case. I also looked into the campsite availability and we can reserve the group site for Saturday night. It has a fire ring and a picnic table which is nice. I was thinking we could do the 8 mile route starting from the north trailhead around 7am so we have plenty of daylight. The forecast shows partly cloudy with highs near 72 so it should be comfortable. Let me know if you want to adjust the start time or if anyone else is joining. I will bring the stove and fuel for morning coffee. If you want to carpool I can fit four people in my car with gear. Just let me know what works for everyone and I will finalize the reservation.

OMAHA STEAKS
Selected cuts, prepared with care

Gourmet Sampler Arrangement

A selection of four premium cuts, each hand-chosen and flash-frozen to preserve quality. Five hundred boxes have been allocated for this program.

See your sampler

Participants may receive a gourmet steak sampler at no charge. Omaha Steaks has made 500 boxes available, each normally valued over $600, provided at no charge to those who are selected. One sampler per household. This offer concludes Tomorrow.

Every cut is hand-selected and flash-frozen to lock in exceptional flavor. Recipients will not be billed for the sampler, and no payment is required if chosen.

Inside Your Box:

4 New York Strips

6 Top Sirloins

4 Filet Mignons

4 Ribeyes

Quantities are determined by program allocation. One sampler per household. Offer ends Tomorrow.

We appreciate you taking the time to review this selection.

I looked into the bread recipe you sent me and tried a variation with spelt flour instead of whole wheat. The hydration needed adjustment so I added about two tablespoons of water to get the right consistency. It rose for about an hour and a half before baking and the crust came out nicely browned. I think next time I will let it proof in the refrigerator overnight to develop more flavor. The texture was tender but had a nice chew. I served it with that roasted tomato soup and it worked well together. If you want to try it with a different flour blend I can send you the adjusted measurements. I also think a touch of honey would complement the spelt nicely. Let me know how yours turns out if you give it a go.
