I think the raised bed layout you sent looks really well planned. The spacing between rows leaves enough room to walk through and harvest without pressing down the soil too much. For tomatoes, I usually go with a deeper bed, at least twelve inches of good soil, and I mix in some compost a few weeks before planting.

The drip irrigation system we discussed last month would fit this setup nicely. I found a timer that connects to the hose and you can set it to water every other day for about twenty minutes. That should keep everything healthy without wasting water.

Also, I noticed you added marigolds along the border. That is a smart way to keep pests away naturally. I have done that the past two seasons and it really cut down on the aphids. If you want, I can come over next Saturday morning and help you put the frames together. I have some extra landscape fabric we can lay underneath to stop weeds from coming through. Let me know if that works for you.

I finished reading that book you suggested last week and I really enjoyed it. The way the author developed the main character felt natural and I liked how the setting shifted between chapters. It kept things interesting without being hard to follow.

You mentioned there is a sequel coming out next spring and I will definitely pick that up. In the meantime, I started looking into other books by the same writer and found one from a few years back that has similar themes. I checked online and my local library has a copy available, so I reserved it and should be able to pick it up later this week.

I think you would enjoy it too based on what you told me about your reading preferences. Also, I wanted to ask if you have seen the schedule for the community reading event next month. I heard they are doing a session on mystery novels and I thought we could go together if you are free.
