I think starting from the north trailhead makes more sense actually. The elevation gain is steadier that way and you avoid that steep section near the creek crossing. I checked the weather forecast and it looks like we'll have clear skies but possibly some wind in the afternoon so we should pack layers. The trail markers can be a bit hard to follow after the meadow so I'll bring my GPS device just in case. We should aim to start by 6:30 AM to give ourselves plenty of daylight. I'll bring the stove and fuel canisters if you can handle the food supplies. Let me know if you want to carpool or just meet at the parking lot. The parking pass is required so don't forget to grab yours online before Saturday.

I finished the novel last night and I have to say the ending surprised me more than I expected. The way the author wove together those plot threads in the final chapters was really clever. I think we should discuss the symbolism of the garden in chapter twelve because I noticed some interesting parallels to the main character's emotional journey. I already reserved the community room for Tuesday evening and I'll bring some snacks maybe those cheese biscuits everyone liked last time. Let me know if anyone has trouble getting through the middle section because I found it a bit slow but it picks up significantly after page 200. I'm curious to hear what everyone thinks about the ambiguous ending and whether the final scene was meant to be interpreted literally or metaphorically.
