Yeah I saw your question about how to properly season a cast iron skillet. The key is to use a very thin layer of oil and bake it at a high temperature. You want to use flaxseed oil or grapeseed oil because they create a hard polymer layer. Apply the thinnest coat you possibly can and wipe off any excess. Then place it upside down in the oven at about 450 degrees for an hour. Let it cool completely in the oven. Repeat this process three or four times and you will have a beautiful non-stick surface. After that just maintain it by always drying it thoroughly after washing and applying a tiny bit of oil while it is still warm. Avoid soap if you can but a little gentle soap is okay if you reseason afterwards. Also never soak it in water and never put it in the dishwasher. I have been using my grandmother's skillet for years with this method and it works perfectly.

Regarding your question about starting a vegetable garden in a small space I think the best approach is to use raised beds or large containers. Tomatoes and peppers do really well in containers about five gallons in size. You want to use a good quality potting mix not garden soil because it drains better. Place them where they get at least six hours of direct sunlight. Water consistently at the base of the plants to avoid leaf diseases. A slow release fertilizer mixed into the soil at planting time makes care much simpler throughout the season. For climbing plants like cucumbers and pole beans you can use a simple trellis to maximize vertical space. I started with just three containers on my patio last year and ended up with more tomatoes than I could use. It is very satisfying to grow your own food even in a limited area. Mulching around the base of each plant helps retain moisture and keeps weeds down.
