Yeah, the trail was a lot harder than I expected. We started at sunrise and the fog was burning off the valley. It was incredible. We stopped at the summit and had sandwiches. The way down was tougher on my knees but overall it was totally worth it. I'm already looking at maps for next month. Let me know if you want to join. It's a great workout and the views are unbeatable. We took plenty of water and some snacks. The weather held up perfectly. Not a single mosquito which was a miracle. I think you'd really enjoy it. It's about a 7 mile loop with moderate elevation. We saw a couple of deer and a fox on the way back. The trail was well marked so we never felt lost. I'll send you the AllTrails link.

I finally got my sourdough starter to a good place. It took about two weeks of feeding it daily. The first loaf was a bit of a brick but the second one turned out amazing. Good crust and the inside was soft and airy. The whole process is very satisfying. Mixing the dough, waiting for it to rise, shaping it, and then the smell when it bakes. I've been giving loaves to neighbors. It feels good to make something from scratch. You should try it. I can give you some of my starter. It's much easier than I thought. Just takes patience. The key is keeping it warm and feeding it at the same time every day. I used a simple recipe from a website. No fancy tools needed. Just a Dutch oven and some patience. The first time you see the scoring open up in the oven it's really rewarding. Let me know if you want to borrow my scale.
