Regarding the trail route for Saturday, I think we should start from the north trailhead instead of the main entrance. The northern approach has better shade coverage for the first two miles, and the elevation gain is more gradual. I checked the weather forecast and it looks like it will be warm but not too hot, so starting around 8 AM would give us plenty of time to reach the summit before the afternoon clouds move in. We should bring about two liters of water each since there aren't many stream crossings along that path. The map shows a few good spots for a rest break around the halfway point where there's a nice view of the valley. Let me know if you want to adjust the timing or if you prefer a different starting point. I can also bring some snacks to share if that works for you.

I looked into the soil composition you mentioned for the raised bed project. The mix of compost and topsoil should work well for most vegetables, though I would add a bit of sand to improve drainage since our area tends to retain moisture. For the tomato plants, they prefer slightly acidic soil, so we might need to test the pH level before planting. I found a few reliable sources for seeds that offer good variety for the season. The weekend after next would be ideal for setting up the beds if the weather cooperates. We should also consider installing a simple drip irrigation system to make watering more efficient. I can help with the framework if you need assistance. Let me know what you think about the overall plan.
