Yeah I think going with the shorter loop trail would be better since a few people are bringing younger kids along. The elevation gain is gentle enough that nobody will feel worn out before we reach the lookout point. Starting around 8am should let us avoid the stronger sun later in the day. We can stop at the clearing around the midpoint and have snacks while the kids explore a bit. I will bring the trail map and maybe a small first aid kit just in case. If we keep a steady pace the whole loop should take us about three hours with the break included. Afterward we could grab lunch at that spot near the ranger station if everyone is up for it. Let me know if anyone has dietary preferences so I can plan the snack stop accordingly.

I also checked the weather forecast and it looks clear for Saturday so that should work well. Just remind everyone to bring a reusable water bottle since the fountains near the trailhead are still turned off for the season.

I have been sorting through the boxes of old project supplies and decided to group everything by material type rather than by color. Wood pieces go on the lower shelves since they are heavier and fabric remnants can live in the clear bins near the worktable. I labeled each container with a simple tag so I can find things without pulling everything out. The smaller hardware like screws and hooks I put into divided compartments with the sizes written on the lids. It took longer than I expected but now the workspace feels more open and I can actually see what I have. I still need to figure out where to store the larger rolls of material but I think hanging them from a wall rack would work well. Let me know if you want me to hold onto anything specific for your next project.

The bins with the weather stripping and corner braces are on the top shelf near the window if you need those. I also came across that extra roll of adhesive padding which might come in handy for the shelf liner project you mentioned last week.
