I was just thinking about what you said regarding the bookshelf design. I finally settled on using a combination of oak and walnut for the frame. The contrast should look really nice once I apply the finish. I found a local supplier who carries both species at reasonable prices. I stopped by their showroom yesterday and was impressed with the quality. The grain patterns on the walnut were beautiful. I think I'll need about three weekends to complete the project from start to finish. That includes cutting, assembly, sanding, and finishing. I decided to go with a Danish oil finish rather than polyurethane because I want a more natural look. I'll send you photos once I get the first coat on. Also I wanted to ask if you still have that doweling jig I lent you a while back. I could really use it for aligning the shelf supports and making sure everything stays square. I know you DH8qd2ioVZl28K mentioned you might have reorganised your workshop so it might be buried somewhere but I'm hoping to start cutting wood next weekend and it would save me a lot of time. Let me know when you get a chance to look for it. No rush at all.

Thank you for being a loyal MyLowe's Rewards member. We look forward to seeing you in store.

I finally tried that new coffee shop downtown that you told me about last month. The pour-over was excellent and they source their beans from a small roaster in the Pacific Northwest. I ended up talking with the barista for a while about brewing methods and she recommended trying their Ethiopian single-origin next time. The atmosphere inside is really cozy with exposed brick walls and comfortable seating. I brought a book and ended up staying for almost two hours just reading and enjoying the quiet. They also have a small selection of pastries from a local bakery that looked really good. I tried the almond croissant and it was flaky and buttery without being too sweet. I think you would really enjoy the place. Maybe we could meet there one weekend and catch up properly. I know you have been busy with your own projects lately but it would be nice to have a relaxed conversation over good coffee. Let me know if you are interested and I can check their hours for a time that works for both of us. It would be great to see you again.
