I finally got around to organizing the garage this weekend. It only took me three years of tripping over boxes to decide enough was enough. I found some really old stuff, like a VHS player and some mixtapes from college. I don't even own a VHS player anymore, but I couldn't bring myself to throw them away. Sentimental value, I guess. The best find was a set of old cookbooks my grandmother gave me. They're completely stained and falling apart, but the recipes are incredible. I spent yesterday afternoon just reading through her notes in the margins. Anyway, I was thinking about that conversation we had about vintage stores. You would have loved this one box of vintage band tees I found. They're practically vintage themselves now, considering how old they are. I might try to sell a few online, but most of them I'll probably keep. It ended up being a bigger project than I expected, but at least I can park my car in the garage again. Let me know if you want to come over and browse the loot. I'll make us some dinner from one of those old recipes. It's either going to be amazing or a complete disaster. Hopefully the former.

We finally took the dog to that new trail out by the lake. The weather was perfect, not too hot, just a nice breeze. He was so excited he practically dragged us the first mile. There were a ton of other dogs out, so he made some friends. One of them was a huge golden retriever that kept trying to play fetch with everyone, even if they didn't throw a ball. It was hilarious. We brought a blanket and some snacks and just sat by the water for a while. I saw a couple of turtles sunbathing on a log, which was pretty cool. We are definitely going back next weekend, maybe try a different loop. I need to get a better leash though, mine is starting to fray. I've been meaning to ask if you had any recommendations for durable ones. Also, we should plan that hiking trip we talked about last month. The leaves are starting to change, and it would be a great time to go. Let me know what your schedule looks like in a few weeks. We could make a whole day of it, pack a lunch, and explore somewhere new. It's been too long since we did something active together.
