Hey, I was thinking about what you asked regarding the hiking trail recommendations. Honestly, I've been going up to the ridge trail near Mill Creek every couple of weekends and it's never let me down. The elevation gain is moderate but the views at the top are worth every step. I'd suggest starting early to beat the crowds and bring plenty of water because there's no shade once you pass the tree line. A friend of mine tried the loop last month and said the southern leg is a bit overgrown but still passable with good boots. I'm planning another trip next Saturday if you want to join. Just let me know what time works for you and we can carpool from the diner at the edge of town. The weather looks decent for the next few days so conditions should hold up well. 701m0HcRG3 I packed a simple sandwich and some trail mix last time and that was plenty for the whole hike. Let me know if you want the GPS coordinates I saved from my last attempt.

I finally got around to testing that sourdough starter recipe you sent me last month and honestly I wish I had tried it sooner. The first attempt was a little flat but I think my kitchen was too cold so I let the second batch ferment near the window where it gets afternoon sun and the difference was night and day. I used a mix of whole wheat and all-purpose flour because that's what I had on hand and it gave the bread this really nice nutty flavor. My neighbor stopped by while I was pulling it out of the oven and ended up taking half a loaf home with her which felt pretty good. I'm already planning to double the recipe next time so I can share more. If you have any tips on shaping the boules more evenly I would love to hear them because mine always end up looking a little lopsided but they still taste great. The crust came out perfectly crackly and the inside had those nice irregular air pockets that everyone looks for. I think I'm officially converted to the sourdown lifestyle now.
