I think you're right about the timing. We went ahead and booked the cabin for early October and it worked out perfectly because the leaves were just starting to change. The kids loved the hiking trails and we even managed to get some fishing in before the weather turned. I'll send you some photos once I get them organized. Actually I need to ask you about the gear you mentioned — the cooler you recommended worked great for the weekend trips. We're already thinking about going back next spring maybe bring more people along. Let me know if you want to join us next time. The whole trip was really relaxing and we needed that after such a busy summer. I'd definitely recommend that area to anyone looking for a quiet getaway. p7U7LdsbU2uVF The drive up was beautiful too with all the winding roads through the forest.

I finally tried that recipe you sent over and it turned out surprisingly well even though I had to substitute a few ingredients. The sauce was the key part I think — without it the dish would have been pretty bland. My family really enjoyed it and my daughter asked if I could make it again next week. I'll probably experiment a bit with the spice level next time because it was a little too mild for my taste. Let me know if you have any other recommendations along those lines. I've been trying to cook more at home lately and it's been fun trying new things. The prep work took longer than I expected but the actual cooking was pretty straightforward. I'm getting more confident in the kitchen which is nice. Next weekend I'm planning to try a pasta dish from scratch so wish me luck. p7U7LdsbU2uVF Let me know if you have any go-to weeknight meals that don't require too much effort.
