Hi there, thanks for your note about the trail conditions. I checked with the ranger station this morning and they said the upper loop is still pretty muddy from last week's rain, but the lower section is in good shape. We should plan to start at the south trailhead around 7:30 if we want to beat the afternoon heat. Bring plenty of water because the forecast shows mid-80s by lunchtime. I also confirmed that dogs are allowed on leash, so feel free to bring yours. Someone asked about restroom availability, and there are vault toilets at the parking area but nothing once you're on the trail. I'll bring a basic first aid kit just in case. Let me know if you want to adjust the timing or if anyone needs to carpool.

Also, the group is meeting at the main lot near the big oak tree, the one with the split trunk. I can send a pin if needed. I think we will be done by early afternoon and maybe grab something to eat after. There is a good spot about ten minutes from there that has outdoor seating.

About the question you asked regarding the community garden plots, I spoke with the coordinator yesterday and she confirmed that the raised beds along the south fence will be available for sign-up starting next week. Each plot is roughly 4 by 8 feet and the soil was refreshed last month. They recommend planting cool-season crops first since we still have some cooler nights ahead. There is a tool shed on site with basic equipment, and water access is at each section. If you want a plot closer to the water spigot, you should mention that when you register. The annual fee is modest and covers soil amendments and mulch delivery. Let me know if you want to split a larger plot, I think we could manage one together and divide the rows. I am planning to do tomatoes, peppers, and maybe some basil on my end. Also, they are offering a short composting workshop on Saturday morning if you are interested, I can send you the details.
