I am not sure if you saw my earlier note about the weekend plans. I was thinking we could push the start time back a little because the farmer's market opens later than I remembered. Also I wanted to ask if you prefer the hiking loop on the north side or the one past the old bridge. I know you mentioned bringing your binoculars so the ridge trail might be better for spotting birds. I checked the weather and it looks like it will be clear but a little breezy around noon so a light layer might help. Let me know if you want me to grab extra water or snacks since I will be stopping by the co-op on Saturday morning anyway. I can also pick up that hummus you like if they still have it in stock. It has been a while since we caught up properly and I am really looking forward to it. No rush on the reply just whenever you get a chance to check your schedule. Also I can bring my camera if you want to get some photos of the overlook. I was experimenting with landscape settings last week and got some decent shots near the reservoir. Anyway talk soon and let me know what works best for you.

I finally tried that sourdough recipe my cousin sent me last month and it actually turned out better than I expected. The starter took about a week to get bubbly enough and I was nervous about the first bake but the crust came out golden and the inside was soft. I used a mix of white and whole wheat flour and added a little honey for sweetness. My family ate almost the whole loaf in one sitting so I will definitely make it again. I have been experimenting with different hydration levels to see how it changes the texture and I think I am getting closer to the style I like. Next time I want to try adding some dried herbs or maybe chopped olives for a savory version. I also started keeping a little notebook with notes on each bake so I can track what works and what does not. It has been a fun way to spend Sunday afternoons and I find it relaxing to work with dough. If you want I can share the basic recipe I started with though I tweaked a few things along the way. Let me know if you ever want to bake together sometime we could make a mess and compare results. I still need to work on my scoring technique but practice helps.
