I was just telling my friend how I think that new burger place downtown is actually pretty decent. The patties are thick and they have this chipotle sauce that really ties everything together. I went there last Thursday and they had a live acoustic set which was a bit loud but overall it added to the vibe. The fries are hand-cut and crispy. A guy at the counter said they source their beef from a local farm which is cool. I’d probably go back again if I’m in that area. He asked me if I'd tried their milkshakes yet and I hadn’t so maybe next time. I usually don’t do milkshakes with a burger but I heard the chocolate one is wild.

By the way, I’ve been trying to finish that book series my cousin recommended. The plot twists are actually unexpected and the writing style keeps me turning pages. It’s a fantasy series but grounded in real medieval history. I’m halfway through the second book now. The characters have depth and the magic system is consistent. I’d love to hear what you thought of it if you’ve read it too.

Also, I switched my gym schedule to morning sessions because evenings were too crowded. It was tough the first week but now I’m used to it. I get more done by lunchtime. The trainers there are helpful and the equipment is new. zKAMRXB9WWYfd There’s a smoothie bar inside now too which is nice. Anyway just catching up.

I finished painting my living room over the weekend and honestly it turned out better than I expected. I went with a warm gray tone called "Driftwood" which looks great with the white trim. My sister helped me tape off the edges and she has a steady hand. We used two coats and it covered nicely. Now I’m thinking about doing the hallway the same color so it flows. The hardest part was moving the furniture but we managed to slide everything to the center and cover it with drop cloths. I also swapped out the old curtain rods for some brushed nickel ones. Makes the room feel brighter.

I’ve been listening to a new podcast about urban farming. It’s super interesting how people are turning rooftops into gardens. They interview city planners and homeowners who grow tomatoes and peppers in small spaces. I never knew you could grow so much in a 10x10 area. If I had a balcony I’d try it. One episode talked about hydroponic systems that use nutrient water instead of soil. That blew my mind. The host is engaging and the episodes are around 30 minutes so they’re easy to fit in during a commute.

Also, I started learning basic carpentry. I built a small shelf for my kitchen counter from some pine boards and brackets. It’s not perfect but it holds my spices and oil bottles. I watched a few online tutorials. The next project might be a simple stool. It’s rewarding to make something with your hands.
