I’m glad you asked about that hike we did last weekend. The trail was beautiful but a bit rocky. I think we started too late and the sun was already getting low. We still made it to the viewpoint just in time. Honestly the way back was tougher than I expected. Next time I’ll bring more water and a better jacket. The weather changed fast and we got caught in a light drizzle. Nothing dangerous but definitely uncomfortable. The views were worth every step though. You could see the whole valley and the lake looked like glass. I wish we had taken a break at the top to eat. Instead we rushed down and missed the sunset. I’d love to go again with a proper plan and maybe some company. Let me know if you want to join next time.

I’ve been thinking about trying that new coffee shop downtown. Someone said they have an amazing cold brew. I usually don’t go for cold drinks but the weather’s been warm. Maybe I’ll give it a shot this week. Anyway thanks for asking about the hike.

I was just catching up on the book club discussion. Honestly I think the ending was a bit rushed but still satisfying. A few people wanted more backstory for the side characters. I can see their point. I really liked the way the author described the setting though. It felt real and lived in. We’re meeting next Thursday to pick the next read. I suggested something lighter maybe a collection of short stories. Someone else is pushing a historical novel. We’ll see who wins. The weather this week has been perfect for lounging on the porch and reading. I’ve also been trying to cook more meals from scratch. Made a pretty good stir fry last night. Nothing fancy but it hit the spot. Looking forward to the weekend. Might try a new recipe or just relax with the book.

Did you ever finish that series you started last month? I recall you were halfway through the third book. Let me know what you thought of the plot twist. I won’t spoil anything but I thought it was bold. Anyway enjoy your afternoon.
