I think the best approach for the garden path is to use decomposed granite rather than bark chips. You asked about drainage and I have seen really good results with DG especially on that slight slope near the vegetable beds. It compacts well so you won't get muddy patches after rain. For the raised beds I would go with cedar because it resists rot and doesn't need any chemical treatment. The dimensions you mentioned should work fine just make sure each bed is no wider than four feet so you can reach the center from either side. Regarding the trellis for the climbing beans I suggest a teepee style rather than a flat panel because it gives better airflow and the plants seem to produce more. I can help you source the materials next weekend if you want. Just let me know if you need me to bring extra tools for the soil prep.

Thank you for considering this offer. We appreciate your time.

I looked into the timing for the neighborhood picnic and I think the last weekend of the month works best for most people. You asked about the park reservation and I checked with the city office they have the shelter available from noon to six on Saturday. The grill situation is first come first serve so we should get there early to claim one. I can bring a couple of side dishes maybe that roasted potato salad everyone liked last time and a big batch of iced tea. If you want to coordinate desserts I know Sarah mentioned she would bring something. For the games we could set up cornhole and maybe a frisbee area on the lawn. The weather should be good that time of year. Let me know if you want me to send out a reminder to the group about what to bring. I can also grab extra napkins and cups from the supply closet at work.
