I finally tried that sourdough starter recipe you sent me. It took a few days to get going but the first loaf came out surprisingly well. Not as good as yours yet but I'm getting there. Maybe we can do a baking session together sometime next month? I think the hydration ratio was a little off because it came out denser than I expected. I also added a bit of whole wheat flour to give it a nuttier flavor. Let me know if you have any tips. I've been watching a lot of videos trying to perfect the scoring pattern on top. The first one looked a bit like a map of a small island. Overall though it was totally edible and my family finished it in one sitting so that felt like a win. I'll keep experimenting. Maybe by summer I'll have it down enough to bring to the cookout.

We finally watched the series you recommended. It took a couple of episodes to really hook us but by the end of the first season we were completely in. The character development is really something else. Have you read the books they're based on? I'm thinking of picking them up. The cinematography was stunning too especially the scenes shot in the mountains. I heard they are filming the next season in a completely new location which should be interesting. I tried to get my partner to read the book first but they wanted to go in fresh. Honestly I think both ways work fine. We ended up binging the whole thing over the weekend and now we have to wait like everyone else. At least it gives us something to look forward to next year. Let me know if you have any other recommendations we are running out of stuff to watch.
