Oh I totally get what you mean about the timing. We had the same thing happen last spring when we were trying to coordinate everyone's calendar for the backyard project. My brother kept pushing for weekends but my sister-in-law had those Saturday workshops she signed up for months in advance. Eventually we just picked a Tuesday evening and it worked out fine because most people could shift things around. The weather held up too which was a bonus.

I ended up borrowing my neighbor's truck for the lumber run and he even helped unload which was incredibly nice. We built a simple pergola nothing too fancy but it gives such nice shade in the afternoon. The kids have been using that corner of the yard constantly now.

Anyway I think you'll find a solution that works for your group too. Sometimes the unexpected schedule actually turns out better than the original plan. Let me know how it goes and if you need any recommendations for supplies I still have the list from our project.

Yeah I finally tried that podcast you mentioned last week. I listened to the episode about urban gardening and community spaces and it was really interesting how they transformed those vacant lots in Detroit. The host has such a relaxed delivery style which I appreciate because some podcasts feel too rushed. I'm halfway through the series now and planning to start the next one soon.

My neighbor saw me listening and asked for the title so I forwarded it to her too. She's been looking for something to play while she paints on weekends. I also found a related episode about rooftop farms in Chicago that I think you'd enjoy since you mentioned wanting to visit that greenhouse downtown.

Anyway just wanted to say thanks for the suggestion. It gave me something to look forward to during my commute this week. Let me know if you come across any other good ones especially anything about local history or architecture.
