Oh, I totally get what you mean about wanting something engrossing but not too heavy. I was in the exact same mood last month, and a friend insisted I try this author I'd never heard of. Honestly, I was skeptical because the premise sounded a little weird, but once I started I couldn't put it down. The writing style just flows so smoothly, you know? It's not overly descriptive or bogged down in boring details. Every chapter ended with just enough of a hook to make you read 'one more page' until suddenly it's 2 AM. I ended up burning through the whole trilogy in about ten days. I think you'd really like the main character's voice—it's sharp and pretty funny. Let me know if you want me to dig up the title from my library history! 6fc7Y2Ar8Ado84y

So I finally decided to try growing tomatoes this year, and it has been such a hilarious disaster. First, I started the seeds way too early, and they got all leggy because I didn't have a good grow light setup. Then, when I transplanted them, my dog decided one of the pots was a great spot to dig for a bone. I managed to save most of them, but they look oddly crooked now. The best part is that despite all my neglect, a few tiny green fruits are actually starting to show up. I have no idea if they'll taste good, but I'm ridiculously proud. It's honestly become the highlight of my morning coffee routine to go check on their progress. Nature finds a way, I guess!
