Hey, I was just thinking about what you asked the other day. I finally decided to give that woodworking class a shot down at the community center. It's actually a lot more fun than I expected. We started by making a simple cutting board, just to learn how to use the planer and the jointer safely. The instructor, a retired guy named Bob, is super patient and really knows his stuff. He showed us how to read the grain of the wood so you can predict how it might split or warp. I never realized how much skill and precision goes into something that looks so straightforward. Next week we're moving on to building a small stool. I'm a little nervous about using the chisel for the mortise and tenon joints, but Bob says it's all about taking your time and letting the tool do the work. I'll let you know how it goes! Maybe if this turns out well, I can try building that bookshelf I've been talking about for ages.

I finally tried that new Korean place downtown, the one that replaced the old pizza joint. The atmosphere was really cozy and the staff were incredibly friendly. I went with Sarah and we decided to just order a bunch of different things to share. The kimchi jjigae was absolutely perfect for a cold day, really warming and flavorful without being too heavy. We also had the bibimbap which came in a sizzling hot stone bowl, so the rice got all crispy at the bottom, which is my favorite part. For the main, we shared the bulgogi which was cooked right at the table on a little grill, it was so tender and sweet. We finished off with a little bowl of shaved ice dessert topped with sweet red beans and fruit. It was such a pleasant surprise. We'll definitely be going back to try more things, maybe the fried chicken next time. Let me know if you want to join us!
