Yeah I finally got around to trying that gardening approach you mentioned. The soil preparation took longer than expected but the raised bed setup worked well. I ended up going with tomatoes and bell peppers for the sunny side and some herbs on the shadier end. The weather has been cooperating nicely so far. I also added a small drip irrigation system which has made maintenance much easier. Let me know if you want to come by and see how it turned out before you start your own setup. I found a good source for compost too if you need a recommendation. The local nursery had a sale last weekend so I stocked up on mulch and starter fertilizer. The whole project took about three weekends to complete but it was worth the effort.

Thanks for asking about the book club selection. I thought the latest novel had some interesting character developments even if the pacing was a bit slow in the middle chapters. The author's writing style reminded me of something we read last year actually. I finished it last night and the ending was satisfying overall. I prepared some notes for our discussion next week and highlighted a few passages that stood out to me. The theme of reconciliation really resonated throughout the story. Let me know if you want to borrow my copy before the meeting. I also found a discussion guide online that covers some of the historical context which might be useful for our conversation. The guide includes questions about the main characters motivations that I had not considered initially.
