Yeah I have been adjusting the lighting in the living room for a few weeks now and I think I finally found a setup that works. The main issue was that the overhead fixture was way too harsh for reading but the floor lamps alone didn't give enough light for the whole space. I ended up using a combination of a dimmer switch on the ceiling light and two table lamps with warm bulbs placed at opposite ends of the room. That way I can adjust the brightness depending on what I am doing. For the dimmer switch I went with a smart one so I can control it from my phone which has been really convenient especially when I forget to turn it off before leaving the house.

The bulbs I used are all LED but I made sure to get ones with a warm color temperature around 2700K so they don't feel too clinical. I also added a small strip of LED tape behind the TV console for accent lighting which gives the room a nice glow without being distracting. Let me know if you want me to send you the links to the specific parts I used because I spent a lot of time comparing options and these worked out really well for the price.

I took your advice about spacing out the tomato plants this year and it really made a difference. Last season I planted them about eighteen inches apart and they got so crowded that I had trouble reaching the fruit in the middle. This time I gave them a full two feet between each plant and they grew much better with more airflow and less disease on the lower leaves. I also switched to a drip irrigation system instead of overhead watering which helped keep the foliage dry and reduced the amount of fungal issues I had before.

The variety I went with this year is San Marzano for sauce and a smaller cherry type called Sun Gold for snacking. Both have been producing really well so far. I staked them with tall metal spirals instead of the traditional cages and that made it much easier to tie the main stems as they grew. I also added a thick layer of straw mulch around the base to retain moisture and keep the soil temperature steady. If you are thinking about trying tomatoes next season I would definitely recommend going with the wider spacing and drip irrigation right from the start.
