Thanks for asking about how the garden planning is coming along. I actually spent most of Sunday mapping out the raised beds for this season. I ended up going with a three-bed rotation for the vegetables and then a separate herb spiral near the back fence. The tomatoes will go in the sunniest bed along with basil and marigolds as companions. The middle bed is getting beans, cucumbers, and some trellised squash. And the third bed I am leaving for root crops like carrots and beets plus a few pepper plants. I also picked up some seed-starting mix and a heating pad to get things going early indoors. The weather has been so unpredictable lately that I am trying to stagger plantings just in case we get a late frost. I am hoping to have seedlings ready to transplant by mid-spring if everything cooperates. The compost pile from last fall is looking decent so I will mix that in before planting. I am also trying a new drip irrigation setup this year to make watering more efficient. Let me know if you are starting anything in your yard.

Thank you for reviewing this offering from Omaha Steaks.

Regarding your question about the hiking route for next weekend, I think the loop trail starting at the north trailhead is the best option given the conditions. I checked the park website and the southern access road is still closed for repairs, so that route would add about forty minutes of driving just to reach the trailhead. The north loop is roughly six miles with about eight hundred feet of elevation gain, mostly in the first two miles. There is a creek crossing at mile three that can be tricky after rain so I will pack extra socks and maybe a small towel. The forecast is showing partly cloudy with highs around sixty-five, which should be comfortable for a full day out. I plan to bring sandwiches, plenty of water, and a thermos of coffee for the summit break. If you want to carpool I can pick you up around seven thirty and we can stop for breakfast tacos on the way out. Let me know if that timing works for you or if you need to adjust.
