Regarding your question about adjusting the recipe for the dinner, I ended up lowering the temperature by about 30 degrees and adding roughly twenty minutes to the total cook time. The texture came out much more consistent and the interior was evenly done without any dry spots. For the seasoning, I increased the garlic and added a small amount of smoked paprika which gave it a nice depth without being overpowering. I also used chicken broth instead of water for the base which added more flavor overall. The resting time after cooking made a noticeable difference too, about ten minutes before slicing. Everyone at the table commented on how well it turned out. I jotted down the changes so I can repeat it. Let me know if you try a similar approach and what adjustments work for your kitchen setup.

See what’s included

Omaha Steaks has set aside 500 gourmet steak boxes for this program. Each box, with a retail value over $600, is provided at no charge to participants. One sampler per household is allocated. This offer is available through Tomorrow.

Every cut in your sampler is hand-selected and flash-frozen to preserve its character. This approach ensures each steak maintains its texture and flavor from our facility to your table.

Inside Your Box

4 New York Strips

4 Filet Mignons

6 Top Sirloins

4 Ribeyes

Quantities are determined by program allocation. One sampler per household.

Thank you for taking a moment to review this offer.

Regarding your question about the garden layout for this season, I decided to rotate the crops to a different section of the yard this year. The soil in the new spot tested better for drainage and had more organic matter after last fall's composting. I marked out four raised beds each about four feet by eight feet with paths between them. For trellising I used cattle panels supported by t-posts which worked well for the climbing varieties. The irrigation setup is a simple soaker hose system on a timer set to run early in the morning. I started the seeds indoors about six weeks ago and they have been doing well under the grow lights. The transplanting should happen in another week or so once the nighttime temperatures stay consistently above fifty degrees. Mulching with straw will help retain moisture and keep the weeds down through the hotter months.
