We're still figuring out the timing for the trail cleanup day next month. I think Saturday the 14th works best for most people since the weather should be mild by then and the trails will need attention after the spring rains. A few of us are planning to bring loppers and pruning shears for the overgrown sections near the creek. If you have a good pair of work gloves that would be helpful. The park ranger mentioned they can provide trash bags and pick-up tools for the litter patrol group. We'll probably split into two teams one for trimming and one for clearing debris on the main loop. Last year we finished by early afternoon and grabbed lunch at that diner near the highway which worked out well. I can send over a sign-up sheet later this week so people can indicate their preference for which task they'd like to help with. Let me know if you think we should also plan for a rain date or just keep it as is and hope for the best.

I think the potting shed project is coming along nicely now that we settled on the foundation approach. We ended up going with concrete pavers instead of a full slab since it gives better drainage and is easier to adjust if the ground shifts. The framing should go up this weekend if the lumber delivery arrives on schedule. I'm planning to add a small workbench along the back wall and some shelving on the side for pots and tools. The windows we salvaged from the renovation are going to work perfectly for the front wall. I still need to figure out the roofing material but a friend recommended standing seam metal panels since they last longer and shed water well. I'm hoping to have the structure enclosed before the next round of heavy rain so I can start moving things in. If you want to come by and see the progress feel free to stop over Saturday afternoon.
