We went with the charcoal option because it gives a better smoky flavor and everyone seems to prefer it over gas when we have done taste tests in the past. For the marinade I would suggest keeping it simple with olive oil garlic lemon juice and fresh rosemary since that combo works well with chicken and does not overpower the meat. You should plan on about six to eight hours of marinating time minimum but overnight is better if you can manage it. As for sides we are thinking a mixed green salad with a light vinaigrette and maybe some grilled vegetables on the side. Corn on the cob is always a hit too. If the weather turns we can move everything under the covered patio and still use the grill without any issues. Let me know if you want me to bring extra chairs or tables because we have plenty of folding ones in the garage. I also picked up some new barbecue tools last weekend so we should have enough spatulas and tongs for everyone. Just let me know what time you want us to show up and I will bring the cooler filled with drinks and ice.

I ended up using those white wire shelving units from the home improvement store because they are adjustable and easier to clean than wood shelves in the garage. The installation was straightforward once I found the studs and used proper anchors for the drywall sections. For the tool storage I grouped everything by category with power tools on the lower shelves and hand tools in clear bins on the upper shelves. The labels helped a lot because now I can actually find what I need without digging through everything. I also added a pegboard panel for frequently used items like hammers and screwdrivers which freed up even more shelf space. The whole project took about two weekends to complete but it was worth the effort because now I can actually park my car in the garage again. Happy to share photos if you want to see how it turned out before you start yours. I found that using small plastic containers for nuts and bolts also kept things organized and easy to see through the clear sides.
