hey! i read your note about the garden project and i think you are overthinking it a bit. honestly, the soil mix you have is totally fine for what you are planning. i have used that same bag from the hardware store and everything came up great last spring. the tomatoes were a little slow at first but once they got going they were huge. my neighbor said i should have staked them earlier but i kind of liked the wild look. anyway, you should just go ahead and start planting this weekend while the weather holds. i heard it might rain next tuesday but that is actually perfect for new transplants. just water them in well and let the rain do the rest. also, if you see any little bugs on the leaves do not panic right away. most of them are harmless and some are even helpful. i made the mistake of spraying everything last year and it killed off the good bugs too. so just watch and wait unless it gets really bad. let me know how it goes! i am curious about the variety you picked for the raised bed.

oh i forgot to tell you about the thing with the library book i returned last week. so i walked in and the machine would not take it back and the lady at the desk said the barcode was damaged. she had to manually check it in and it took forever. there was a line behind me and i felt so awkward. anyway she said it happens all the time and not to worry. i told her i had been reading it on the porch and maybe the sun faded the ink a little. she laughed and said at least i brought it back on time which is more than most people do. then i grabbed a hold on a new mystery novel that just came in. the cover looked really interesting and the blurb said it takes place in a small coastal town. i love those kinds of stories. i will let you know if it is any good. also, have you tried that coffee shop on main street yet? i went yesterday and the cold brew was solid. the guy working there recommended a pastry that had something like honey and sea salt on top. it was surprisingly good. definitely worth another visit.
