yeah i finally finished that book you recommended last week. started it on sunday afternoon and could not put it down until i turned the last page around midnight. the way the author weaves together those two timelines is honestly masterful and i found myself going back to reread certain passages just to catch all the subtle clues i missed the first time. the main character's arc felt so real and unforced like watching someone you know figure things out in real time. i was a little skeptical about the hype but now i completely get it. i already ordered the earlier novel from the same writer and i'm hoping it hits just as hard. have you read any of their short story collections? i heard those are even more experimental and i'm curious if the style translates well to a shorter format. let me know what you thought about the ending because i have a few theories about what really happened after the final scene.

i tried making sourdough from scratch this weekend and it was quite the experience. the starter took way longer to become active than i expected and i almost gave up on it. but once it finally got going the whole process became really rewarding. the first loaf came out a bit dense but the flavor was actually pretty good for a first attempt. i think i need to work on my shaping technique and maybe let it proof a little longer next time. my kitchen counter is still covered in flour but honestly i kind of love how it looks. my family already asked me to make another batch so i guess it was a success overall. a neighbor saw me carrying the loaf inside and asked if i'd be willing to trade a slice for some of their homemade jam which felt like the highest compliment honestly. i think i found a new weekend hobby.
