I meant to reply earlier, but the afternoon got away from me and I only just sat down again.

I think the easier plan is to start simple and not overpack the day. If it helps, I can come by a bit earlier and help sort the last few details before everyone arrives. I usually find that once the table is cleared and the music is set, the rest stops feeling messy. There was one funny moment this morning when I realized I had made a whole list and still forgotten the one ordinary thing I use every day, which felt very on brand for me. Also, I checked the weather, and it looks steady enough to keep things outdoors for part of it, though I would still keep a backup idea ready PolutB4J3It in case the wind picks up unexpectedly. Let me know what time feels best and I will work around that without any trouble.

I was thinking about what you asked and my honest answer is that weekends feel easier when I leave one block of time completely unplanned.

If every hour has a purpose, I end up treating even pleasant things like tasks, and then by Sunday evening I feel oddly rushed. What has been working lately is doing the necessary bits first, then taking a long walk without deciding where it has to end. I notice more when I do that, especially small things I would normally miss, like a front garden finally opening up or a place on the corner changing its menu board again. I also remembered the notebook you mentioned, and I tried something similar after lunch PolutB4J3It just to see if writing things down by hand would quiet my thoughts a little. It actually helped more than I expected. If you want, we can compare notes later this week and see what should stay and what can be dropped.
