Yeah, I finally got around to trying that sourdough recipe you mentioned. Took me three tries to get the starter right but the third loaf actually turned out decent. The crust was a bit thicker than I wanted but the inside had those nice air pockets you see in bakery bread. I think my kitchen is just too cold for it to rise properly. I might try leaving it near the radiator next time. Anyway, I ended up giving half to my neighbor and she said it was the best bread she'd had in months. IfpU19kxueQo Have you tried any other variations since we last talked about it? I remember you mentioned trying it with rye flour. I'd be curious to hear how that turned out and if you'd recommend it. Also, I finally finished that book you lent me — took longer than expected but the ending really stuck with me. Let me know when you want to grab coffee and chat about it.

So I finally took your advice and signed up for that pottery class at the community center. The first session was honestly a mess — I could not get the wheel to cooperate and ended up with clay all over my shirt. But the instructor was really patient and by the end of the second class I managed to make something that actually looks like a bowl. It is not pretty but it holds things. The class is pretty small, only six people, which is nice because you get plenty of one-on-one time. There is this one guy who has been doing it for years and his work is incredible. He is helping me with the glazing process next week. I think I am going to make a set of small bowls for my sister's birthday. If they turn out halfway decent I will send you a photo. You should really consider joining, the Tuesday evening session still has openings.
