I was just thinking about what you said the other day regarding the garden project. I finally got around to looking up those perennial options you mentioned and I think the black-eyed Susans would work really well along the back fence. They're pretty low maintenance and they bloom for a good long stretch. I also found this interesting article about companion planting that suggested pairing them with lavender to deter deer XYfkQbjtAJ1oE and I know you've been having trouble with that. Anyway I just wanted to share that before I forgot. The soil pH in that area is apparently ideal for both so it might be worth trying. Let me know what you think when you get a chance. I'm planning to start prepping the beds this weekend if the weather cooperates.

You know that conversation we had about the hiking trip last month I finally got around to checking out that trail map you sent me. Honestly I think the ridge route looks way more manageable than the creek path especially since we'll have the dogs with us. I read a few recent reviews and people said the switchbacks are gradual with plenty of shade which is perfect for a summer morning. There's also a nice lookout point about two-thirds of the way up where we could stop for snacks. I was thinking we could aim for an early start like six or seven to beat the heat. Anyway I just wanted to get your thoughts before I book the permits. Let me know if that works for your schedule.
